Personalized Snowman Wood Sign

It's getting time to start thinking about Christmas...sorry, I had to do it.

And what better way than to display some cute handmade wood Christmas cuties.

This cute wood snowman is made of old pallet wood and hand painted.

DIY Black and White Painted Striped Shoes

I am on a roll....my 3rd pair of hand-painted shoes for my 4 year old granddaughter.

I am having way too much fun with this DIY shoe painting.

I started with a pair of blank shoes, a stencil (I cheated again), fabric paints, and a shirt I wanted the shoes to match.

I really liked this pattern and I thought it would work well with her black and white striped shirt....and it can go with many black shirts.

I taped the stencil on the front of the shoe and used my black fabric marker paints to color it in.

Pretty simple.

I outlined the stitching with red and will eventually (before school starts) make a matching red and black hairbow. I think this will be a cute outfit paired with her white Bermuda shorts I bought.

I know....white shorts for a 4 year old pre-schooler?? CRAZY MeMe!! But I couldn't resist those shorts. I found them at Wal-Mart for $6 and I had to have them!

Taking bets to see how long they last..........

I do believe my granddaughter's school wardrobe is going to be so cute.....CHEAP but CUTE! 

This was my last pair of shoes to paint. Our Wal-Mart was sold out of her size and the size up. Now I patiently wait for a new stock to come in.

I am having so much fun with these DIY painted shoes.

They're cheap and fun to make....and they're cute- without having to spend a lot of money!

DIY Animal Print Painted Shoes

This is my 2nd pair of shoes I have made for my 4 year old granddaughter,
I enjoyed making the first pair so much I hauled off to Wal-Mart to by more shoes....and more paint colors...and some "bling"...and some stencils...and some other stuff.

Unfortunately they only had 2 pair of shoes left in  her size....ugh! The misery. lol
I was going to go a size up- we all know kids grow faster than we blink so I figured she'd be able to wear them in no time....nope- they were sold out of those also.

So I was stuck with just 2 pair to paint last night.

I got home and pulled out a few of her shirts I had bought and I realized one of the shirts had animal prints....and I had just bought animal print stencils.....SCORE!!

Yes, I cheated on these shoes and used stencils but I think they're cute.

As usual I started with a "blank" pair of shoes.

Here's the shirt I wanted the shoes to match. Thanks to Old Navy for a good 4th of July sale I only paid $4 for this shirt....another SCORE!

I taped the stencil to the front part of the shoes and started coloring in. I didn't have a turquoise color (wish I did....now that is on my list of needed colors. So I just used a regular green. The stencil didn't fit all the way around for the sides so once I was finished with the front half I just placed and hand-held the stencil on the sides and painted it in.

I used a zebra print for the sides and back. The shirt shows a yellow zebra print but the yellow wouldn't stand out on the white shoes so I used pink. I just kept with the color of the shirt and I think it turned out pretty good.

I then outlined the stitching with a pink and yellow marker.

Here's the shoes matching the shirt.

I think it looks pretty good....coming from a MeMe who likes to do things CHEAP.

My granddaughter is in love with these shoes <3 

But I think at 4, she likes anything MeMe makes for her.

DIY Painted Shoes For Girls

The new school year will be upon us soon and my 4 1/2 year old granddaughter will be starting VPK this year. So this MeMe has already started her school shopping.
This will be my first year getting to school shop for a girl. I raised 3 boys so this girl thing is new to me....and I am pretty darn excited about it!

I figured she will need cute shoes for all her cute outfits and what a cute and inexpensive way to do it by painting some CHEAP (I said I only do cheap) shoes I found at Wal-Mart.
And these shoes have many colors....which means they can go with MANY outfits!! I LOVE when that happens!!

So here we go......

I started with some CHEAP shoes ($4.97) and fabric markers ($6).

Both found at Wal-Mart

I then did a boo-boo.....

I seen online about using fabric paint and "smearing" it on the shoes to make a tie-dye looking effect- by wetting the shoes, adding the paint and then smear with your finger.. I did that and it was super cute but the paint faded too much and it could hardly be seen. I WILL try that one again! So instead of having "ruined" shoes.....I decided to paint little hearts and polka dots on them. You can faintly see the smeared effect.

I then started painting hearts on the front half and polka dots on the back half.....see how simple that was.

Once that was done I added some paint to the stitching areas.

VOILA.....done and super cute. 

I will probably add some cute and colorful shoe strings later on.

As you can see I used several colors....so these shoes will be able to go with a LOT of cute outfits.

I LOVE these types of shoes. They're cute with jeans, shorts, and even sundresses and skirts.

This was my first time using fabric paints....I see MANY more projects in the future for this MeMe.

I raised 3 boys and am now raising my granddaughter- phew that is totally different!
When she came to live with us I started making hairbows. My love for DIY projects for her has grown. I have made shoes (well painted the shoes), jewelry, tie-dye t-shirts, tutus, hairbows, Halloween outfits, and many more things.

I should of started this blog a few years but it never dawned on me to share these things until now. So with that being said, I hope you enjoy your visit here. I will start adding all of the things I make from now on.
